KARACHI, Dec 28: The Pakistan Muslim League-Q has decided to hold talks with the provincial assembly members of the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal on individual basis to seek their votes of confidence for President Pervez Musharraf.

PML Central Organizing Committee member and provincial minister Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh said this while talking to a group of PML MPAs.

The decision was taken following opposition leader and Sindh PPP President Nisar Khuro’s refusal to hold talks on the issue, and MMA’s decision to remain passive during the voting process, he said.

Mr Shaikh said that the passing of proposed 17th amendment bill would prove to be another milestone in strengthening of democratic process in the country.

He lauded the decision of the president to resolve the Legal Framework Order issue with the opposition, saying it was in the ‘larger interest’ of the country.

Mr Shaikh expressed his belief that in view of the contribution of President Musharraf in reviving the economy and putting the country back on the road to democracy, he would get the vote of confidence.
