CHARSADDA: Nineteen suspected persons were arrested and arms and ammunition recovered from their possession during a strike and search operation carried out in the limits Shabqadar and Saro Kallay police stations here on Friday.

According to DPO Charsadda, DSP Shabqadar led the operation.

The arrested persons were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. Six SMGs, two pistols and 530 cartridges of different bore were seized from their possession.

Meanwhile, senior minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao has said his party will continue to serve the masses and protect the rights of Pakhtun nation.

He expressed these views were while addressing a function in Sherpao village of his constituency.

He said QWP was ready to render any sacrifice for safeguarding the interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On the occasion, people informed Mr Sherpao about their problems, and the minister issued on the spot directives for solutions to their grievances.
