National judo from tomorrow

LAHORE, Nov 24: The 15th national judo championship will be held here from Dec 26 to 28, said an official of the Pakistan Judo Federation( PJF).

Over one hundred judokas from all affiliated units of the PJF will display their talent and skills in the three day premier activity, said Mahmood Naveed, secretary, PJF on Wednesday.

He said bouts will be held in nine weight groups, below 50 kgs, below 55 kgs, below 60 kgs, below 66 kgs, below 73 kgs, below 81 kgs, below 90 kgs, below 100 kgs and above 100 kgs.

The championship will serve as an ideal opportunity to pick most outstanding martial art players for taking part in an international judo tournament which will be held in India, Lucknow for which Pakistan has already received a formal invitation from the Judo Federation of India.—APP
