KARACHI, Dec 24: The additional district and sessions judge, Central, Basheer Ahmed Khoso, sentenced on Wednesday a murderer to suffer life in jail.

Abdur Rasheed, who had killed Shafique Ahmed on Jan 8, 2000, was also ordered to pay Rs50,000 as compensation to the victim’s family.

The accused had stabbed the victim to death with a pair of scissors at a barber’s shop within the limits of the Khawaja Ajmair Nagri police.

In case of default on the payment, the convict would have to undergo an additional six-month term of rigorous imprisonment, the judge ordered.
