GUJRANWALA: The case of a tortured maid became more gruesome when a medical report confirmed her rape at city’s Garden Town area on Wednesday.

Police arrested two suspects (one of them maid’s employer) after registration of a case against them.

According to initial information, a resident of Garden Town threw steaming hot tea on the face of his 12-year-old maid after he lost his cool over slight delay in service. Severely burnt, the girl was admitted to hospital where she was administered treatment.

In an application to the Aroop police, the girl’s parents also demanded her medical examination which the officials arranged at a health facility.

The medical report showed that the girl had been raped after which police registered a case against her employer and his brother.

Civil Lines SP Nadeem Khokhar told this correspondent that two suspects had been arrested and investigation was under way.

ELECTROCUTED: Two hotel workers were electrocuted in Kamoki here on Wednesday.

Hasnain, 17, and Zulfiqar, 35, employed at an hotel, were busy doing some work on a ladder during rain. The ladder touched a wire resulting in electrocution of both workers.

The bodies were handed over to their families.

SUICIDE: Two persons committed suicide in parts of the city on Wednesday.

Waseem, 37, a resident of Rana Colony, reportedly jumped in front of a train.

The Saddar police said the man committed suicide in frustration over financial woes.

In an area falling in the Aroop police jurisdiction, Usman allegedly committed suicide over his failure to marry a girl of his choice.
