According to initial information, a resident of Garden Town threw steaming hot tea on the face of his 12-year-old maid after he lost his cool over slight delay in service. Severely burnt, the girl was admitted to hospital where she was administered treatment.

In an application to the Aroop police, the girl’s parents also demanded her medical examination which the officials arranged at a health facility.

The medical report showed that the girl had been raped after which police registered a case against her employer and his brother.

Civil Lines SP Nadeem Khokhar told this correspondent that two suspects had been arrested and investigation was under way.
