KARACHI: 18 Indian fishermen detained

KARACHI, Dec 24: Eighteen Indian fishermen were detained with their three boats for violating Pakistan’s territorial waters, a Maritime Security Agency official said on Wednesday.

“The fishermen were arrested about 79 nautical miles south of the Karachi,” the official, requesting anonymity, told Reuters.

The fishermen, believed to be from western Gujarat state, had been handed over to the police, he added.—Reuters
