KARACHI: Tribute paid to Noorani

Published December 24, 2003

KARACHI, Dec 23: Late Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani was a bright chapter of religious and political history of Pakistan and his services for unity of Muslims would always be remembered.

These tributes were paid to late Maulana Noorani by the speakers at a condolence reference meeting, held under the auspices of Al-Khadim Group with Siddique Rathore in the chair.

The speakers recalled his roll and contribution in providing Islamic basis to the 1973 Constitution and his efforts for unity of all schools of thought met with success in form of the Muslim Yekjehti Council and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal.

They said that Maulana Noorani’s simple living afreshed the memory of early days of Islam when mosques used to be the centre of running the affairs of government. The speakers also recalled his role as missionary in spreading the message of Islam in every nook and corner of the world, which resulted in embracing Islam by thousands of non-Muslims.

The speakers included Muslim Pervez, Eng Abdul Aziz, Saeed Ghani, Jafar-ul-Hasan, Muhammad Wazeer, Abdul Razzaq Sanghani, Mehfoozun Nabi, Ghulam Abbas Talpur, Noor Hasan Jokhio, Siraj Qureshi, Chaudhry Nawaz and others.
