KARACHI: Wapda ‘A’ and ‘B’, Army ‘A’ and Lahore ‘A’ completed the semi-finals line-up in the inaugural all-Pakistan 3 x 3 women’s basketball tournament here at the KPT Sports Complex on Wednesday.

As expected, top seeds Wapda ‘A’ and Army ‘A’ remained undefeated and topped group ‘A’ and ‘B’, respectively on completion of the group matches on the penultimate day.

Wapda ‘B’ and Lahore ‘A’ finished runners-up in their respective groups.

Wapda ‘A’ are slated to meet Lahore ‘A’ while Army ‘A’ are drawn to face Wapda ‘B’ in the semi-finals to be staged Thursday noon.

This will be followed by playoff for the 3rd-4th positions between losers of the two semi-finals and the final the same afternoon.

Meanwhile, the match between Army ‘A’ and Lahore ‘A’ turned out to be the most exciting of the competition so far which the former won 18-17.

In the other matches of the day, Lahore ‘A’ inflicted a 12-8 defeat on Army ‘B’, Wapda ‘A’ outclassed Lahore ‘C’ 11-5, Wapda ‘B’ trounced Karachi ‘B’ 21-8, Army ‘B’ struggled to beat Lahore ‘B’ 11-9, Lahore ‘A’ were home over Karachi ‘C’ 14-5, Lahore ‘C’ got the better of Karachi ‘B’ 8-4, Wapda ‘A’ thrashed Karachi ‘A’ 16-3, Army ‘A’ crushed Karachi ‘C’ 16-8 and Lahore ‘C’ defeated Karachi ‘A’ 10-3.
