PESHAWAR, Dec 22: The Awami National Party on Monday termed the ongoing dialogue between the government and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal an eyewash and an attempt on the part of the MMA to deceive the masses.

This was attributed to the party’s chief, Begum Wali Khan, who was talking with party workers here on Monday.

A press release, issued by Mian Iftikhar Hussain, party’s provincial secretary information, quoted her as saying that the MMA was deceiving the general public by resorting to what she termed a fake dialogue with the ruling party at the federal level on the Legal Framework Order issue.

She said that masses were being hoodwinked as on the one hand MMA was busy in negotiations to strike a deal with the federal government over the issues while on the other it had launched a protest movement.

The ANP’s provincial chief expressed the hope that the real intent of the MMA had been exposed, adding that people would never trust the alliance again.

Terming the NWFP government a total failure, she accused the provincial government of having failed to fulfil its electoral promises.

Stressing the need to make the ongoing reorganization process in the party a success, she said unity among them was vital in this regard.

Describing the present political scenario as being critical, she said “dramatic changes” could not be ruled in this connection, adding the party should forge unity among its ranks.
