KARACHI: A policeman was killed in an attack near his home here on Tuesday night.

Officials said the 40-year-old constable, Mohammad Khalid, was targeted near his apartment in the Lasbela area.

“Khalid was going home on his motorcycle when two men on another motorbike intercepted him near his home and sped away after firing multiple shots,” Jamshed Town SP Tahir Ahmed Noorani said.

“He was hit by a bullet in the head which proved fatal. We have found two cassings of spent bullets fired from a 30-bore pistol. Khalid was posted at police’s Garden Headquarters,” the officer added.
