It’s praiseworthy that Pakistani film stars, who were once associated with Lollywood and now that Karachi has become the base station for filmmaking haven’t been seen in films for a while, are coming back into the fray.
Babar Ali is doing a rom-com, and we should welcome his return to celluloid (or is it digital?). Singer and actress Shahida Mini is back in the news as well. In a recent interview to an Urdu daily she has suggested that instead of pointing out the shortcomings in our film industry we should try and look for the reasons for those shortcomings.
Well, isn’t that sensible! This implies that it’s time to work more and talk less. Only by working a hell of a lot more can we improve the quality of our movies. Big talk from Mini Shahida!
