PARACHINAR: Two persons were killed and at least 19 others injured in different road accidents triggered by snowfall and rain in Kurram Agency on Saturday.

Officials said two people were killed and six others, including a woman, were wounded when two vehicles collided during heavy rain in Lower Kurram.

In another accident, at least 10 people got injuries when two vehicles collided in Kochi area. The wounded persons were shifted to hospitals in Sadda and Parachinar.

In yet another incident, three people suffered injuries when a vehicle skidded off a snow-covered road and fell into a ravine in Shalozan area near Afghan border.

The administration directed motorists to drive carefully on the iced roads. Officials said that several link roads had been closed due to snowfall in different areas of Kurram valley.

Our correspondent in Kalaya adds: Different areas of Orakzai Agency received heavy snow during the last two days which badly affected life in the area.

The snowfall disrupted vehicular movement in parts of the tribal agency as the mercury level dipped to freezing point.
