KARACHI, Dec 21: Chairman Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan, along with other office-bearers, was booked by police for organizing a rally without permission on Saturday.

SHO Ferozabad police station, Shahnawaz Khan, told Dawn that he had visited the party head-office in PECHS Block-6, and asked for the production of the permission letter for the rally, but they failed to produce the letter and said that they had applied for it.

“We did not stop the rally, as it would have created a law and order situation. An FIR was later lodged on behalf of the state,” said the SHO.

Besides the chairman of the PTI, eight other leaders and some vehicles were nominated in FIR 573/03, registered for violation of 144 under Section 188 ppc, the SHO added.
