15 killed in Kashmir violence

SRINAGAR, Jan 1: Fifteen people, including six Hindus, were killed in shootouts in occupied Kashmir on Tuesday and Monday night.

The deaths were the latest in a string of slayings of Hindus in the held state.

In the latest bloodshed, six Hindus, including two children, were shot dead in Poonch district, 255kms north of occupied Jammu, police said.

Indian army soldiers claimed killing six Mujahideen on Tuesday in two gunbattles in Baramulla district, north of Srinagar.

Elsewhere three civilians were killed in shootouts on Tuesday.—Reuters
