KOHAT: The security forces seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition in a raid at a house adjacent to an Imambargh in Tora Warai area of Kohat on Tuesday.

A statement issued by the district police office on Tuesday said acting on a tip-off that miscreants had hidden weapons in a house the security forces launched an operation.

Upon search of the basement of a house they recovered an anti-aircraft gun, a 75 RR gun, an 82mm mortar gun, dozens of mortars, several bombs and explosives.

The weapons were moved to a secured place by the bomb disposal squad.

The action was taken in Kachai village of Tora Wari area bordering Orakzai Agency.

It was claimed that the weapons and ammunition had been stored for use in frequently fought sectarian wars between the rival tribes of Orakzai Agency and the western Kohat belt.
