ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad police on Thursday handed over belongings and luggage of victim passengers of the PIA flight PK-661 after tagging of 61 items, to Syed Atif Shah, manager PIA Safety and Quality North, at the DPO office here.

Abbottabad district police officer Khurram Rasheed was present on this occasion. Sources said that the management of PIA had decided to move the wreckage of the crashed plane to Islamabad as almost all investigative teams had completed their initial task. These teams have already moved important parts of the destroyed plane.

Sources said that the voice recorder and black box of the plane had been sent for decoding which would be treated as the major factor to decide cause of the crash at Havelian. The plane had crashed on Dec 7 while on way from Chitral to Islamabad.

Giving details about the leftover luggage of the victims, Havelian DSP Khursheed Tanoli said that the items handed over to the PIA management included the purse of Junaid Jamshed and his wife, copies of CNICs of both, rings, a necklace, passport of airhostess Sadaf Farooq and service card, Rs4,000 cash recovered from her purse, another purse with damaged cash of around Rs15,000, Chinese currency, three mobile sets, four wrist watches , bangles, bracelets, burnt SIM cards, burnt USBs, ear ring, CNICs of Mohammad Raheem, Aisha Usman and Shah Munir and several other purses and coins.
