MOST localities in Karachi do not have any supply of water for days on. As a resident of Gulshan-i-Iqbal block 13-D/2, I would like to draw the attention of the water board to the problem of water shortage.
Water supply pipelines remain broken at many places spilling costly water on roads. I would request the water board through these columns to shrug off its lethargic attitude and ensure supply of water to its taxpayers.

Every householder knows if water is not coming out of the water tap, repairing the pipeline alone will not solve the problem, there has to be water in the overhead tank before water will reach the tap. Our overhead tanks, the two dams, are fast losing storage capacity but demand for water is increasing every day, Karachi is already getting 550 million gallons per day from Kotri barrage through Keenjhar lake and plans are afoot to take another 650 mgd in three installments of 260, 260 and 130 mgd. It is a simple supply/demand problem, if only our politicised politicians could understand this.
