KARACHI, Dec 17: Unidentified suspects killed a policeman in Mobina Town early Wednesday morning.

Police said that five suspects entered the house of police constable Mukhtar Husain, 35, in Limoo Goth, in the jurisdiction of Mobina Town and hit him on the neck with a sharp weapon when he was asleep.

Police said the victim’s neck got almost detached from the body. The victim was asleep in the front yard of his one -room house, while his wife and three children were sleeping inside the room.

Constable Mukhtar was earlier posted at the prime minister’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal residence, but was transferred to the Hasan Square policeline.

Police said the victim’s eldest daughter saw the five suspects leaving the front yard of the house and found her father’s body in a pool of blood.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. An FIR against unknown suspects has been lodged by the victim’s wife.

KILLED: A man killed his father in Orangi Town on Wednesday evening.

Police said that Shahid Husain Shah, 35, stabbed to death his father, Maqbool Husain Shah, 60, in their house in Islamnagar, Mominabad, over a domestic issue.

Following the incident, police arrested the suspect in possession of a sharp-edged weapon. Police shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy.

ACCIDENTS: Four people died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

Kalakot police said that Mohammad Ayub, 35, was crossing the road when a speeding truck (LSB-9926) knocked him down.

The injured was taken to the Civil Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The errant driver of the vehicle escaped from the spot following the accident.

An elderly woman died in a road accident in Malir on Wednesday.

Police said that Khatoon Bibi, 65, was knocked down by a speeding minibus of route (D-11) near Malir Bridge. The errant driver escaped from the spot following the accident.

In another accident in the same locality, police said a young boy Allah Bux, 12, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle near Chowkandi graveyard.

An unidentified woman died in a hit-and-run accident in Liaquatabad.

Police said a woman was knocked down by a speeding vehicle in the limits of the Super Market police station.

Her body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Later it was taken to the Edhi morgue for identification.
