KARACHI, Jan 1: Relief work of the Edhi Foundation is being affected because of delay in the allotment of two frequencies of wireless communication by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and the Wireless Control Board.

The spokesman for the Edhi Foundation, Faisal Edhi, said on Tuesday two frequencies had been allotted to the Foundation of which one was not operative due to technical reasons. He said the difference between the pitch of the two frequencies was very narrow which caused interruptions in communication if both frequencies were installed in one control room.

He said the Foundation had submitted a request to the ministry of communications to acquire two more frequencies in Karachi, and the difference of their pitch must be greater than one megahertz.

He said 35 wireless could be operated on one frequency. In case of emergency, the wireless system of the Foundation could get stuck up and relief work could be suspended.
