LAHORE: Rashid Malik and Rai Zahid duo as well as pair of Nouman Aleem and Ali Qayyum qualified for the 50 plus age group final in the Meaple Leaf ITF World Ranking Tennis Tournament here on Thursday.

Rashid and Zahid defeated the pair of Asad Niaz and Waqar 6-3, 7-6 in the first semi-final while Nouman and Ali outplayed Inamullah and Iftikhar Rao duo 6-4, 6-2 in the second pre-final.

In the 35 plus singles semi-finals, Shahzad Khan beat Mohammad Arif 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 to set the date in the final with Shaharyar Salamat who ousted Hassan Said 6-2, 6-2 in the second semi-final.

In the 55 plus age group singles, M. Parvaiz got a walkover against Narish Khatri of India while in the second semi-final Nouman Aleem beat Mubin Malik 6-0, 6-0.

In the 65 plus age group, Laiq Ahmed thumped Parvaiz Bajwa 6-0, 6-0 in the lone semi-final; with Israr Gul and Mohammad Arif duo securing a 6-3, 6-3 win against pair of Irfan Ullah Khan and Shahzad Khan to move into the final in the 35 plus age group category.
