Pakistan on Saturday defeated Malysia and qualified for the final of Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, where the green shirts will face their traditional rivals India on Sunday for the championship title.
Pakistan defeated Malaysia on a penalty shootout after their semi final match was tied with the scoreline 1-1 at full time.
Goalkeeper Amjad thwarted an attempt by a Malaysian player and forced him to throw the ball out of the net.
The green shirts will now face India on Sunday who defeated South Korea by five goals to four, to reach the final.
Pakistan lost their group matches against host Malaysia by 4-2 , India by 3-2 while winning against Korea by 1-0 , Japan by 4-3 and China by 4-0.
This is Pakistan's fourth consecutive entry into the final of the Asian Champions Trophy.

The point I was trying to make was for our policy makers. Pakistan hockey federation is out of cash while our local players don't get to play too many quality matches too. I know its not India's concern but Pakistani players deserve much acclaim in Pakistan. They pushed India which is better team with better coach and resources but I wouldn't be surprised if Pakistan go on to win tomorrow. About time Pakistani government started investing more money and efforts in sports overall.

Why PTV sports is not promoting our national game and is not telecasting any of Pakistan's match in this Asia Cup Hockey. Then they blame Hockey team for not performing well and not bringing any good hockey player. Its all because of our attitude towards Hockey. We don't even consider a game why call it a National Game. It should be Cricket by now.
