MINGORA: Government Degree College Mingora won the Inter-board Bad­minton Tournament after defeating Government Daggar College Buner here on Tuesday.

Degree College Mingora’s Abdul Basit thumped Sajad of Degree College Daggar in straight sets 21-17, 21-12 in the singles final while the doubles final saw the pair of Abdul Basit and Abdullah beat duo of Nizam and Sajad 21-19, 21-23, 21-12 claiming victory for Degree College Mingora.

The tournament was organised by the BISE Swat with two zones of Swat and Buner featuring in the event.

Degree College Mingora topped the Swat Zone while Government Daggar College Buner was the winner of Buner Zone.

Abdul Basit who clinched victory for Degree College Mingora said that he was excited after winning the tournament for his college.

“I am happy to have played in front of big crowd and secured victory for my college. I love badminton and would work hard to reach the professional level,” he maintained.
