KARACHI: An ATC sentenced on Tuesday a man to seven-year imprisonment in an extortion case.
Mohammad Ghazi was found guilty of demanding protection money from a shopkeeper by putting him in the fear of death in the Arambagh area in November 2013.
The court, however, acquitted a co-accused, Atif Sheikh, for lack of evidence.
The ATC-III judge, Syed Shakeel Haider, also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on the convict and in case of default he would have to undergo an additional one year in prison.
