KOHAT: The elders of Jawaki Adamkhel, the Frontier Region of Kohat, have demanded early repair of the snapped high transmission line due to which the area has been without electricity for last three days.

Addressing a press conference here, the elders attributed the problem causing occasional power breakdowns to the wider than prescribed gaps between the power pylons erected in the mountainous region due to which lines broke under their own weight.

Requesting anonymity, the elders said that they had to pay money to the technicians for fixing a fault. They demanded that to solve the issue the Pesco should supply them electricity through plain areas from Gumbat as Jawaki was located on the Rawalpindi Road.

They complained that they could not even charge their mobile phones for weeks and remained cut off from rest of the country because they could not watch TV.

They also demanded that the government ask any mobile company to install its tower in the area, because for making emergency calls especially during night they had to approach the Rawalpindi Road in Kohat.

They regretted that there was no PTCL line facility in the area.
