ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi Corps Commander Lt Gen Malik Zafar Iqbal visited the Nakiyal and Karela sectors, situated along the Line of Control (LoC), on Thursday amid violations of ceasefire by Indian forces that left at least one man dead and several people injured, an Inter-Services Public Relations statement said.
“He [General Iqbal] met troops, appreciated [their] high morale and daring response against Indian unprovoked firing,” said the statement, adding that the corps commander met the injured civilians at a hospital and offered condolences to family of Abdul Rehman, who was killed in firing by Indian troops on Wednesday.
