KOHAT, Dec 10: Leader of a traders association was gunned down by unidentified assailants in the cantonment area here on Wednesday.

Haji Gulzar, president of Mushtarika Markets Association, was heading for Kohat bazar from his residence in Janglekhel when he was attacked in the cantonment area. Haji Gulzar was also patron-in-chief of a local organization, Tanzeem Khidmat-i-Khalq.

Soon after the incident, the traders community closed businesses and went on an indefinite strike to protest the cold blooded murder.

Kohat SSP Abid Ali, talking to Dawn, said the police had constituted several teams to arrest the killers. He said that Haji Gulzar had an old enmity and had received threats in the past.
