NEW YORK: Pakistan on Wednesday handed over a dossier on human rights violations in India-held Kashmir (IHK) to the United Nations General Assembly, Radio Pakistan reported.
The prime minister's special envoys on Kashmir, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed and Dr. Shezra Mansab Ali, handed over the dossier to UNGA President Peter Thomson in New York.
The envoys briefed the UNGA president about the threat to peace and security posed by the deteriorating situation in held Kashmir.
Senator Mushahid Hussain said India has closed all doors to bilateral dialogue, scuttled a regional summit and refused to implement United Nations Security Council resolutions at the international level.
Dr. Shezra Ali detailed the killings of protesters in Kashmir, and briefed the UNGA president about injuries caused by the use of brute force by Indian forces.
The UNGA president expressed concern at the situation and assured the visiting envoys of every possible effort to foster peace.
He said an update on the current situation from the UN Department of Peace Keeping Operations will also be sought.
Officials of the Department for Peacekeeping Operations briefed the special envoys on the continued non-cooperation by the Indian side which was hampering the mandated work of the UN mission.
Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations, Dr Maleeha Lodhi, was also present on the occasion.

Sooner or later world would wake up to the brutality of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. India calls itself the largest democracy of the world, the truth is cows have more rights in India than Kashmiris in Indian held Kashmir.

The suffering Kahmiris from Indian occupied territory must raise up their own leaders to send their message to the world. Pakistan's hand-picked Ambassadors and emissaries cannot have the same impact. Our news media must give publicity to genuine Kashmiri leaders, and our government's External Publicity Department must work harder to publicize their message world-wide.

Nicely presented! however we can send international peace keepers to the affected areas to remove the curfew like situation and give the people a chance to live life normally. Till the UN decides to organize a referendum in which people of Kashmir can decide for themselves where they want to go.

Leaders of BIMSTEC member countries have been invited by India, who is a member of both BRICS and BIMSTEC, to hold a joint summit with the BRICS.
BIMSTEC - B'Desh, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan,
Afghanistan - really poor India.

@Rizwan Razzaq if the same thoughts Quaid e Azam and his fellows had followed. Then today we would be confined to our homes, facing hundreds of days of curfew, and bursts of pellets at our backyard, blinding our youngsters, by these Monkey worshippers. Freedom of Kashmir is the need of hour.
