KARACHI: Young Mahatir Muhammad Khan, a highly promising tennis player from Sindh Club, shocked experienced Rayyan Jiwani in the first round match of under-11 category of the 1st Naushad Imdad Development Series Ranking Tennis Championship being played at the Bath Island Club on Sunday.

In the under-17 contest, Hasan Farooq beat Abdul Samad while Hasan Mustafa got the better of Ali Kothari in straight sets.

Over hundred players are taking part in this development series tennis event including players from various cities.

Under-17 Singles - Hasan Farooq beat Abdul Samad Areejo 6-4, 2-0 rtd

Under-15 Singles - Abdul Samad Areejo beat Kamran Khaskheli 6-3, 6-1; Waleed Jashed ( Dherki) beat Usman Mehmood 6-0, 6-0; Hasan Mustafa beat Ali Kothari 6-0, 6-4

Under-13 Singles - Ebad Ganatra beat Rayyan Jiwani 6-3, 2-0 rtd. Ibrahim Nouman Yousuf beat Muzammil Mustafa 6-0, 6-0

Taha Aman beat Rumail Ahmed 6-0, 6-0

Under 11 Singles - Mahatir Muhammad beat Rayyan Jiwani 8-0, Muhammad Abdullah beat Ibrahim Nouman aftab 8-4.
