Broken road

Published September 26, 2016

THIS refers to the dilapidated road heading from Guru Mandar to Teenhati. During the last two to three years, work for laying the drainage lines was carried out. Consequently, a well-developed road was broken for the purpose.

Once the drainage lines were put in, the road was left unrepaired. These days public transport drivers do not distinguish between road and footpaths which may cause severe accidents.

Furthermore, uneven surface causes huge traffic jams in the evening which takes hours to clear. Now dirty water is on the road. It is unbearable to cross road because of foul smell of stinking water. Additionally, this area has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes. This can become a source of waterborne and contagious diseases.

The authorities concerned should repair this road for a smooth flow of traffic and to prevent an outbreak of diseases.
