KOHAT: Four people were killed in different incidents here on Saturday.

One Amin Gul allegedly shot dead his brother Nadeem Gul inside their home in Mohammadzai area and fled the scene. Nadeem’s wife, Zeenat Bibi, later registered an FIR against his brother-in-law in the cantonment police station.

One Gul Hassan was killed by unknown motor cyclist near Nadir filling station. Brother of the victim, Imdad, filed a murder case against the unidentified killer.

In an accident on the Indus Highway, a bus and dumper collided near Pray Ghar area, resulting in death of the bus cleaner Nasrullah, a resident of Buner, and injuries to driver Bacha Rehman.


Security arrangements finalised for Muharram


A young man, Mohammad Sabeel whose wedding had started on Saturday, was run over by a speeding coaster on Rawalpindi road near Azeem Bagh.

His friend Aurangzeb was injured in the accident. The area police have arrested the driver.

MUHARRAM SECURITY: The police and local councillors finalised foolproof steps for security during Muharram in a meeting here on Saturday.

DSP city Raza Mohammad Khan exchanged suggestions with nazim Urban-1 Shakeel Ahmed, nazim Zahoor Ahmed Paracha, naib nazim Garhi Mawaz Khan area Abdul Khanan and councillor Rashid Mehmood.

Both sides agreed to ban use of loudspeakers, fiery speeches, display of weapons, publication and distribution of hate material and pillion riding during Muharram.

Raza Khan said that stringent measures would be in place for security of the Muharram processions, Imambargahs, mosques and mourners’ route.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Sunni Supreme Council, Kohat division, was chaired by former MNA Javed Ibraheem Paracha to give final touches to their programmes for Muharram.

It was also attended by council’s chairman of Hangu chapter Maulana Abdus Sattar and Kohat Qaumi Tehreek president Ameer Khan Afridi.

It was decided that the first religious gathering would be held on the first of Muharram in Kotwali Mosque.
