ABBOTTABAD: The local police have registered a case over the death of a girl, who expired two days ago at the Ayub Medical Complex due to torture by her stepmother. Her stepmother inserted at least 20 sewing needles in the victim’s abdomen and arms, causing her death.

She was residing with his father and stepmother at Hazro where her father is working in MES Attock. After the grave injury she was shifted to hospital by her uncle in critical condition during Eid holidays.

A case was lodged by her uncle at Hazro police station under section 302/34 of PPC.

It should be noted that the girl, before being dead, recorded her statement with Mir Pur police that her stepmother had inserted needles in her body and also beat her up severely time and again.

The search for her father and mother is on as the woman escaped the spot after committing the crime.

Meanwhile, office-bearers of some NGOs working for human rights and child protection headed by M Idress Advocate have announced to fight the case for the ill-fated girl free of cost and provide all sorts of legal aid to the victim’s family.
