Mardan bloodshed

Published September 5, 2016

THE suicide bomber who carried out the attack on the district courts in Mardan has exposed the inability of state institutions to deal with this threat.

The loss of 70 lawyers in the suicide bomb explosion in Quetta and six more lawyers in the Mardan explosion leaves one speechless. I condole with the families of the deceased.

The persistent attacks on lawyers only show that the implementation of National Action Plan and the establishment of military courts have not acted yet to curb this malady.

I urge the government to take remedial measures and ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people before the masses turn them out in the next election
