KARACHI: SHC notice to Pemra

KARACHI, Dec 5: A division bench of Sindh High Court, comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Zia Pervez, on Friday issued notice to Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority on a petition filed by Haji Gul Ahmed praying court to direct the PEMRA to restrain cable operators from displaying obscene channels.

Petitioner alleged that cable operators are displaying channels, which contain obscenity and nudity despite license is issued to them under the condition that they would not operate such channels or programmes.—PPI
