KARACHI: Azim stripped of post

KARACHI, Dec 5: The Sindh Government has restrained Nazim Orangi Town Shahid Alam to act as the Nazim of Orangi Town Municipal Administration Karachi until further orders.

A notification to this effect was issued by the Local Government Commission under Section 197 of the SLGO 2001 and with the approval of competent authority.

According to the notification issued on Dec 5 by director general IM&EC,” Nazim Orangi Town Shahid Alam is involved in misappropriation of funds of the TMA and has committed serious irregularities and acts of corruption in conducting the affairs of the TMA.

“In view of the serious allegations, it is expedient in the interest of smooth functioning of the Orangi Town Municipal Administration to take action against Mr Shahid Alam”, the notification added.
