KARACHI :APWA gifts for prisoners

KARACHI, Dec 4: All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA) has distributed gifts among the inmates of the Prison for Women in Karachi on Eid day.

Executive Vice-President APWA, Laila Sarfraz, said here on Thursday that a delegation of the organisation visited the women’s jail in Karachi and distributed gifts among the children lodged there along with their mothers.

She said the donations included beds, shoes, milk, sugar, cereals, detergents and approximately one-year supply of stationery. She also said that ice cream had been donated by a benefactor and would be given once in a week to the children.

Laila Sarfraz appealed to Karachiites to help alleviate the misery of these children. Secretary General APWA Yasmin Dastur also spoke.— APP
