PESHAWAR: Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif on Friday visited front-line troops busy in operations along the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Agency and was briefed on the ongoing offensive against militants in the Rajgal valley.

The Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement that Gen Raheel appreciated the highest state of morale and professionalism shown by the troops in fighting terrorists of various outfits hiding in the most rugged terrain.

Clearing the high mountain passes in Rajgal of militants despite being the most treacherous terrain was a “manifestation of Pakistan’s commitment to check cross-border movement and will go a long way in helping our initiative of border management,” he said.

The army chief directed enhanced vigilance and pro-active approach to stop any type of movement of terrorists. Addressing the troops, he said the nation and valiant army had paid a huge price to fight terrorism.
