PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested the owner of Al-Madina Property Dealer Peshawar, Mohammad Imran Khan, for allegedly cheating public at large and looting millions of rupees from innocent people fraudulently.

According a statement issued by NAB here on Friday, the accused was doing the business of sale and purchase of property under the name of Al-Madina Property Dealer Peshawar.

It was stated that the accused had received money from public to give them plots at cheap rates in Nowshera/Peshawar, but he did not fulfil his commitment.

The accused admitted his guilt and offered to return the looted money to the affected persons.

The statement said that the regional board meeting of NAB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had accepted his request for voluntary return of the people’s money, but he failed to deposit the looted money according to his promise.

The accused will be presented before the accountably court for obtaining his physical remand.

Meanwhile, the NAB arrested Mohammad Aslam, a private person, for illegally transferring one kanal and 10-marla commercial plot on Ashraf Road, Peshawar, in his name, causing a loss of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.

According to NAB, the plot was the property of Municipal Corporation, Peshawar, and it was collecting its rent since 1962.

It said that Aslam in connivance with others twisted the facts and created bogus RL-2 by claiming the MC land through it and finally got transferred the same to his name in 2008.

It was stated that KP NAB had already arrested patwaris Saeed Khan and Ilyas, Shakeel Hassan, Qamaruddin and Taimur Hassan in the instant case.

The accused will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand.
