KARACHI: Local gold price hit a new peak of Rs 52,300 per tola on Thursday for the current calendar year, a rise of Rs450 compared to the rate prevailing on Wednesday.

All Sindh Saraf and Jewellers Association said the 10-gram price also rose by Rs386 to Rs44,828 due to the increase in international gold prices by $19 to $1,340 per ounce.
