After England's comprehensive 330-run victory over Pakistan in the second of the four-match Test series, head coach Trevor Bayliss looks to rehire Saqlain Mushtaq later this year, The Guardian reported on Wednesday.

Saqlain, the inventor of doosra, was hired by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for the second Test at Old Trafford.

England are scheduled to tour Bangladesh and India later in the year and Bayliss will advise director cricket Andrew Strauss to take the spin-wizard on board for the tours as his presence promises to prove beneficial.

“Both Mo and Rash enjoyed working with him very much. By the sound of it, it was very positive and we’ll look to use him again,” Bayliss said at the end of the Old Trafford Test.

“It wasn’t necessarily a lot of technical coaching – I’m sure he mentioned one or two things – it was more tactical. That’s where we think both Rash and Mo need to make improvements to go ahead in the international game.”

Saqlain played for Pakistan from 1995 to 2004, bagging 496 wickets across all formats.

His last stint for Pakistan was in 2004 against India in the Test that is remembered for Virender Sehwag's extraordinary batting. India rode on Sehwag's 309 to an innings and 52-run victory in the first of the three-match Test series.
