ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) expects good results from the junior team, which will participate in World Junior Squash Championship scheduled to be held in Bielsko-Biala, Poland from Aug 6 to 16.

Speaking to Dawn on Friday, PSF honorary secretary Group Captain Amir Nawaz said the six-member team will leave Islamabad for Poland on Aug 4, adding the federation was expecting fine results from the juniors.

“Last time, our team won silver medal and in individual games, Ali Bokhari won bronze,” Amir recalled.

Meanwhile, the PSF on Wednesday requested the Pakistan Sports Board to arrange tracksuits for the junior team.

The team, which has been training under the supervision of Amjad Khan here at the Pakistan Squash Complex, comprised Israr Ahmed, Ahsan Ayaz, Abbas Shoukat, Mehran Javid, Kashif Asif and Sadia Gul.

According to PSF secretary, for the first time a Pakistani female player is going to participate in the World Junior Squash Championship.
