KARACHI: Four Pakistanis are among 145 players who will compete for honours in the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) 6-Reds and Team Snooker Championship which runs in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh from July 20 to 30.

According to the information available here, 65 teams (each outfit comprising two players) will fight for glory in the team event which takes place concurrently. As many as 26 nations are competing in the annual event.

The Pakistani quartet includes Pakistan No.1 Babar Masih, No.2 Sohail Shehzad, No.3 Asjad Iqbal and No.4 Mohammad Bilal.

The 6-Reds participants have been drawn into 32 groups and top three from each group will qualify for the knockout round.

Similarly, the teams have been bracketed into 13 groups and top three from each group will advance.

Groups featuring Pakistani cueists:

Group ‘B’: Karim Elabd (Egypt), Babar Masih (Pakistan), Simon Dent (England), Mahana Alobaidli (Qatar), Dherminder Lilly (India).

Group ‘D’: Mohammad Rais Senzahi (Afghanistan), Sohail Shehzad (Pakistan), Karim Abdelmeguid (Egypt), Mohammad Qureshi (Mozambique), Bharat Sissodia (India).

Group ‘I’: Mohamed Hammouda (Egypt), Asjad Iqbal (Pakistan), Dilip Kumar (India), Khalid Fakhouri (Jordan), Keith Thomas (Wales).

Group ‘X’: Ashraf Al Gharib (Egypt), Darren Morgan (Wales), Mohammad Bilal (Pakistan), Ali Jalil Ali (Iraq).
