KARACHI, Nov 28: Some quarters keep on spoon feeding to the press about likely changes in the setup to destabilize the government of Chief Minister Ali Muhammad Mahar and the latest report in this regard was nothing more than another rumour.

This was stated by adviser to the chief minister on home affairs Aftab Ahmad Shaikh while talking to Dawn on Friday. He pointed out that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement was the largest single group in the coalition government with 41 members in assembly and any move to bring changes in the setup could be possible only after taking the MQM into confidence.

He said that as far as their group was concerned, if any plan was transpired to affect changes in the setup of provincial government, the MQM was not aware of it. However, it was beyond his comprehension that any official quarters had taken any decision in this regard without taking the MQM into confidence.

Besides, Mr Aftab said why there should be any change when the chief minister was performing his duties taking all coalition partners along with him.

He said that the peaceful conditions maintained all over the province during Eid holidays for the first time after so many years proved the good team work. Thousands of people thronged the shopping centres and streets on the eve of Eid to celebrate the occasion, which spoke volumes of good governance, he added.

CM: Sindh Chief Minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar on Thursday met Pir Sahib Pagaro at his residence at Pir-jo-Goth, and exchanged Eid greetings with him and discussed various matters, adds PPI.
