KHUZDAR: A local leader of the National Party (NP) was shot dead in the Gresha Guwani area of Khuzdar district on Wednesday night.

According to Levies officials, gunmen barged into the house of Mir Taj Mohammad Sajidi and tried to kidnap him and shot him dead upon resistance.

Mr Sajidi had served as the nazim of Union Council Gresha.

The Levies officials registered a case against unknown killers and started investigation.

NP president and federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo and former chief minister Dr Malik Baloch condemned the killing of Mr Sajidi and demanded immediate arrest of his murderers.
