LARKANA, Nov 25: The general secretary of PML(Q), Shikarpur district, Jai Jai Veshno, terming the uniform and LFO non-issues, advised the opposition to come forward in strengthening the democratic institutions in the country.

In a press statement on issued here on Monday, he claimed that despite the opposition’s negative role, the government was making progress in the economy, building up its image in the comity of nations with positive and constructive policies.

He said that it looks quite strange that the opposition protests against the LFO on the floor of parliament but it sits with normality in the provinces where they rule, though the entire system was the product of the LFO.

He said that thanks to the LFO the number of seats for women and others increased in the national, provincial assemblies and in the senate, the minority was given due status and the age of the voter was reduced.

He said that the government would complete its tenure.

He asked the opposition to stop opposing the LFO and inject energy for legislation and solving the problems of the voters of their constituencies, and added that they had propelled the opposition members to the assemblies for the redressal of their grievances and not for wasting time in opposing the LFO and uniform.

He was optimistic that the united PML-Q would deliver the goods to the nation as with the restoration of democracy it had put the country on the path of progress and prosperity.

SNF: The chief of the Sindh National Front, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, said that the law and order situation in Sindh was getting from bad to worse.

Speaking at a reception here on Sunday, he said that the brutal killing of two boys in Larkana was a reflection of the poor law and order situation in the country.

He alleged that the government had been defeated by the terrorists and dacoits which was why the law and order situation was fast deteriorating.

He termed the government the product of rigging.

He said the defective police reforms and the exercise of devolution of power plan had virtually sandwiched the common people.

He said with the introduction of devolution of power plan in the country the government had robbed away the provincial autonomy of the provinces and it gave corruption a free hand to grow and take roots.

He accused the government for dishing out Rs26 billion to the district government to undertake development work but instead of pumping money into projects, the Nazims hand in glove with the government contractors had siphoned off the money.

He said that the ground reality was enough proof of the money that had gone down the drain.

He said that the black clouds hovering over the country since long were getting thicker and blacker.

The local leaders of the SNF also spoke on the occasion.
