SHEIKHUPURA: The chief minister on Sunday suspended from service Nankana DCO, executive district officer (EDO) health and DHQ hospital medical superintendent over ‘dereliction of duty.’

The chief minister landed at the Nankana hockey stadium helipad and went to DHQ hospital. He visited female and children wards and expressed his displeasure over non-functional air conditioners.

He asked the DCO, EDO (health) and MS about it who could not reply to him satisfactorily.

Later, he asked the patients lying on beds in wards and their attendants about the availability of medicine and others facilities. They nodded in negative.

Shahbaz Sharif reprimanded the officials and ordered their suspension from service.

DCO Dr. Usman Ali, EDO (health) Dr. Aslam Randhawa and DHQ Hospital MS Dr. Yaseen had been posted in the district for the last more than two years.

ACCIDENT: Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on an overhead bridge near motorway on Sunday.

Reports said the unidentified motorcyclists were on their way on Gujranwala Road when a truck hit the two-wheeler, killing them on the spots. Saddar police have started investigations.
