LAHORE: A three-day Vice Chancellors’ Committee meeting will start here on Monday.

On the first day, the HEC chairman will give presentation. Prof Arshad Ali, HEC excutive director, will give his presentation on institutional performance and programme review.

A session on penal discussion on quality assurance will also be held in which Prof Dr S. Sohail Naqvi, LUMS VC, Ahmed Farooq Bazai, BUITEMS Quetta VC, Engr Muhammad Asghar, NUST Rector, Prof Afzal Haque, NED UET VC, Karachi, retired Lt-Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, NDU Islamabad president and Prof Mohammad Hafizullah, KMU Peshawar VC will participate.

On the second day, panel discussion on Tenure Track Statutes/System will be held in which Prof Mujahid Kamran, PU VC, Prof Mohammad Aslam Uqali, VC of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Prof Javeid Iqbal, VC University of Balochistan, Prof M Rasul Jan, University of Peshawar VC and Dr Ghulam Ghous, VC University of Management Sciences and IT, Kotli participate.

The role of state, media and universities in promoting societal development, discourse and peace in society will also be held. Prof Shahid Saddiqui, AIOU Islamabad VC and media penalists will discuss it.

On the third day, Tahir Abbas Zaidi, DG Attestation & Accreditation, will speak on the opening of new higher education institutions.

A panel discussion on special reference to opening of sub-campuses and affiliated institutions will also be held.

The meeting venue is Pearl Continental Hotel.
