KARACHI: Revival of the Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA) on the lines of 70s and 80s is on the anvil as some former players are being inducted into its fold when the electoral meeting of the body takes place at Karachi Club Annexe on May 7.
Former national champion Javed Hayat and a former national player Tauqir Mohajir look set to assume role of chairman and secretary respectively for a four-year term. The latter will succeed former SAF Games gold medallist and ITTF trainer Arif Khan.
Incumbent KTTA president and a former player Mohammad Tahir is likely to get re-elected for another term.
Of late, both Javed and Tauqir have started taking active interest in the revival of the game aimed at repaying the debt.
It may be mentioned that Karachi has served as a nursery for the game for decades in the past and had produced a galaxy of players who did the nation proud.
