SHANGLA: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested a suspected terrorist from Chakesar area and seized arms from his possession.

Chakesar Station House Officer Itbar Khan told reporters that the police raided a hideout in Jatkol village and arrested the alleged terrorist. He said that the police recovered a pistol, live rounds and a hand grenade from his possession.

The SHO said that the suspect was shifted to an unknown place for interrogation. He identified the arrested man as Saleh Mohammad and said that he was wanted to police in terrorist activities.

Meanwhile, people of Kamach Nusrat Khel area in collaboration with the Shangla Development Society organised a spring poetry session on the banks of River Indus in Martung tehsil on Sunday.

Poets from across the province, including Iqbal Shakir, Zafar Ali Naz, Aimal Khatak, Mohammad Gul Mansoor, Prof Attaur Rehman Atta, Nadeem Charagh, Aslam Salik and others attended the session. The poets presented poems on peace, spring and Labour Day and received applause from the audience.
