PESHAWAR: Mardan clinched top four positions of the Army Public School annual award in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Inter Services Public Relations.

A statement said that the award distribution ceremony was held at Iqra Auditorium, APS Peshawar on Thursday Corps Commander Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rahman was chief guest on the occasion.

APS Mardan won pre-school award, best junior school of the year award, best middle school of the year award and best senior school for year 2013-14 thus received the trophy of “best school of the year.

Addressing teachers and students, Gen Hidayatur Rahman appreciated the role and contribution of Army Public Schools and Colleges which were imparting quality education across all garrisons.

He reiterated that education must be in conformity with modern era of science and technology.

He said that children were asset of this nation and would invest in modern education to transform our children into responsible citizens of Pakistan.

He distributed certificates and trophies among teachers and staff.

Besides Lt-Col (retired) Naeem Ahmed, principal APS Mardan, received principal of the year award. Best senior school 2014-15 award and most improved school of the year award were given to APS College for Girls, Peshawar.

Principal most improved school of the year award was received by Mrs Fouzia Sarwat Ali.
